Mabel Corwin Branch

The Mabel Corwin Branch meets on the 2nd Sunday of the month at the Encinitas Community Center. Meetings begin at 1:30PM and feature a speaker, member show and tell, "everybody wins" plant raffle, and refreshments. Time and location of meetings is changed occasionally to avoid conflict with holidays, conventions, or other special events. Contact Harry Clyde for current information.

Margaret Lee Branch

Meetings are held on the 4th Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m. in members homes. We also meet at nurseries or other locations to help us with our study. Meetings include study of member's annual SOS (Species Of Study), Sections of Begoniaceae, show and tell of our prize and problem plants, and other "Bits 'n' Pieces". We also enjoy lunch together and a plant/cutting exchange. Members self their species and plants to create seed for the club's project, the ABS's Clayton M. Kelly Seed Fund, also helping with other activities connected with the fund. We participate in the annual Begonia Show and Sale put on by the three San Diego Branches on the first weekend of October.

San Francisco Branch meets on the first Wednesday of the month except January. The meetings start at 8:00 P. M. and adjourn around 10:00 P. M. after dessert and coffee. We meet in the Strybing Building that is on the corner of Lincoln and 9th Ave. in Golden Gate Park. There is parking in the rear of the building, and you enter that from Lincoln Street.

Meetings include a program, opportunity table, snacks, and a free plant for guests. On October 22nd at 10:30 a.m., the Whittier Branch will be presenting GARDEN FRAMES BY CHARLIE. These frames are his unique idea and he will be using begonias to demonstrate and create one for the opportunity table. He uses many different types of plants and has a variety of sizes available. Whittier Community Center, 7630 Washington Ave., Whittier.Please note we do not meet in November and our December meeting date will be announced each year.

Begonia Society of Tampa Bay

The Begonia Society of Tampa Bay meets at 10:30am the 4th Saturday of each month (except for November and December) at the Famous Tate Distribution Center, 6401 N. 54th St., Tampa, 33610. Meetings typically include an informative program, society business, a plant raffle and light refreshments. Visitors and guests are always welcome. First time guests receive a free begonia.

Palm Beaches Branch

The Begonia Society of the Palm Beaches meets the second Monday of each month in the Mounts Auditorium at 531 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach. There is ample paved parking.

Plant raffles and exchanges, information, official society business, refreshments and a guest program are offered starting at 7 p.m. Guest program starts between 7:30-8 pm and meetings adjourn typically between 8:45-9:15 pm.

Delaware Valley Branch

We meet six times per year, depending upon the program, either at Meadowbrook Farms or a nearby library. Both are in the Jenkintown/ Abington area which is the southeastern part of Pennsylvania.

The meetings are currently scheduled for 10 am to 12 noon on the first Saturday of the following months: September; November; January; February; April and June.

Our programs are educational in that we have special speakers, discussions on growing and propagation of begonias, plus workshops.

Program : Join Stephen Maciejewski as he takes you on a 15 day journey into a seldom seen section of China. Follow him and Professor Wei Yi-Gang, author of Gesneriaceae of South China as they travel 3,000 kilometers in search of beautiful, rare and still unnamed species of gesneriads. You'll see plants never seen before: many Chiritas, other gesneriads and plants like the cave growing iridescent blue Begonia edulis. Plus spectacular scenery, including otherworldly karst mountains, caves larger than ball parks, elaborate rice fields and quaint villages.
